Kollázs — Sculptural Ceramic Vase

Kollázs is a handmade vase built from loosely layered slabs of clay that overlap, lift away and in places peel back from the body. There is no regular outline and no even rim — the opening is jagged and torn, and the whole form looks assembled spontaneously, in a single unbroken stretch of work. This is a deliberately raw piece, closer to a sculptural sketch than to a resolved vessel.

The cream-white base is enlivened by patches of coloured glaze: vivid green, cobalt, red and yellow, laid in blocks across selected fragments. Some read as smooth and glossy, others stay matte and gritty, with particles breaking through the coating. The object is handcrafted in a small studio and is unrepeatable by nature — the arrangement of slabs, colours and fissures never occurs twice. The work is intended above all for display: it looks best standing alone, against a pale, quiet background.
